CA HOPE foundation School

The CA Inc. HOPE foundation school was established in 2004 in Hyderabad. Located in Kakateeya Nagar, it provides English-medium education from kindergarten to 5th Standard for children living in the slums of Habsiguda. Most parents are poor migrants whose monthly average income of Rs 1,500 ($28) makes it difficult for them to afford quality education for their children.

Our school provides the students with free books, stationery, uniforms, and two meals every school day – breakfast and lunch. Most of the students are from Urdu and Telugu-speaking families and the teachers initially found it challenging to teach them English. Over time, hard work and perseverance of both the students and the teachers have managed to overcome such challenges. In 2008, the school recorded a pass rate of over 95 per cent in English. The school has over 250 students presently enrolled.

Soham for Kids HOPE foundation School

The Soham for Kids HOPE foundation School in Hyderabad was established with the support of Faiza Seth, a UK-based young entrepreneur from Hyderabad. Sixty students are presently enrolled at the school. Using education as a tool to break the cycle of poverty, the school educates 60 children of poor families living in the urban slums of Mallapur.
