Kerala has been battered by the worst floods in a century, almost one million people have been displaced and 373 have lost their lives due to the rains and flood. Thousands of people are stranded without basic necessities. Due to landslides, uprooted trees, broken power lines, damaged roads and water clogging, it is very challenging to reach the affected people by road.

The damage, loss, suffering, and pain has been immense. While a small percentage of the people were blessed to have their homes and personal property spared, many thousands have suffered crippling losses.

As the flood waters are receding, the affected would need a huge amount of resources and manpower to distribute relief materials, clean up houses and public places filled with slush. The floods have crippled the lives of people who are in need of basic necessities such as clothes, food items, clean drinking water, medical aid, cleaning materials etc.

HOPE Foundation is a charitable organization registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. HOPE responded, through staff and volunteers, by sending relief materials to the affected areas such as Panavalli, Kattikulam, Irumanthur, Mullal, Edathana, Manathavady, Palakad etc. We are currently distributing food, clothes, medicine, and toiletries. We plan to continue with the relief and rehabilitation.

We need more funds, in-kind donations, and volunteers who could help with distribution and cleaning of houses. Lend a helping hand and support, making a difference in the lives of these people. Your contributions are eligible for tax benefit under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act.
