Old age home, Chembumukku

YEAR STARTED: 2003

SUPPORTED BY: Multiple partners

We started an old age home in the city of Kochi (Cochin) in Kerala in 1991, with eight older women as our first residents. The home cares for older women who do not have the resources to live on their own. We are equipped to care for 11 women at a time.

Till date, we have been able to help over 25 women find shelter and care at our home. We provide them with food, medical care, counseling and emotional support. Some of the residents have also been reunited with their families. In 2011, we had the maximum number of residents with 20 women living with us here. In 2015, we had 16 residents.
