In 2020, the partnership between Pepco and the HOPE Foundation resulted in the establishment of the Pepco School of Hope. This initiative is dedicated to uplifting disadvantaged children in the community and empowering women by imparting tailoring skills and fostering self-reliance. The program caters to children aged 4–13 who do not have access to conventional schooling, often due to their parents’ challenges in balancing their educational needs and providing for the family.
The Pepco School of HOPE fills this educational void by offering a nurturing environment for these children to learn and eventually transition into mainstream educational institutions. Spanning from pre-nursery to 2nd grade, the school groups students based on their knowledge levels rather than age, ensuring tailored and effective learning experiences. By focusing on bridging the educational gap, the initiative equips students with the essential foundational skills required for admission to formal schools.
The impact of this collaboration is evident as many students have seamlessly transitioned to government schools, while numerous women who participated in the vocational classes are now generating sustainable incomes from home-based work.
We are working inclusively for the holistic development of children, youth and vulnerable individuals.
Our ‘Cradle to Career’ approach focuses on transforming lives where we walk alongside an individual on the entire journey – through childhood education and care towards skill training and livelihood as an adult.
